CIRCLESQUARE "Hey You Guys" Remix Contest + Free Download

CIRCLESQUARE has embarked on their tour of the West Coast. Along with the Junior Boys, you'll see the band tour with The Field on some European dates aswell this fall.

Recently, Circlesquare launched a remix contest for their epically beautiful single "Hey You Guys", and challenges producers & fans alike to remix the song for a chance to join the remixing ranks of original Circlesquare remixers: The Juan Maclean, Konrad Black, Lowfish, Mickey Moonlight, Matias Aguayo, Russ Chimes and Anoraak.

So we find it quite fitting to share with you Joakim's edit of one of our favorites, "Dead Eyes Opened" by the Severed Heads. When you hear this song (1984), its def of hard to believe this was 25 years ago!

We like to play this song when it's six in the morning and those last tweaked out, rasta-hat hippies are still waving their healing crystals in the air "vibing on everyone's collective energy." Pacific! - Sunset Boulevard (Lord Skywave Remix V1)

Lord Skywave is Simon Lord, who you may know from The Black Ghosts or Simian.

He's just remixed Pacific!'s "Sunset Boulevard" which is heavily reminiscent of the 60s, and we're really enjoying it. It's kind of reminding us of The Isley Brothers' "This Old Heart Of Mine" (see video below).

NEW Late Of The Pier - Space Of The Woods

I think when a new all-boy band comes out, especially nowadays there definitely is one very important question we need to ask eachother, and that is "Who's your favorite?".

We've decided we like the ginge. WHAT? Don't hold that against us!

Aside from that, these guys seem different from their (likely compared to) fellow bands. One commenter on the Youtube page we grabbed this video from nailed it when he said they sounded like Tubeway Army #2. We think thats good, and we also have a strong a feeling there is less flat-iron involved with these guys than with Pete Wentz.

This album, In Ghost Colours has been one of our guilty pleasures lately. We can't even really rationalize why it has to be guilty particularly, --it's well constructed. Even though some of the 90's house-vocal samples threw us at first, we've still had it firmly on our iPod since its release.

NEW Radiohead - Nude (Circlesquare Remix)

This whole Radiohead remix contest is so genius to us. From the band's new marketing strategies, to their inclusion of labelmates Holy Fuck's very timely remix, it excites us to see artists thinking in new ways, and finding other means of promoting their music. The new era of music is upon us it seems.

However, we do have our favorites when it comes to the entries. We don't often ask for much, but we're calling you on all the music favours we've dealt. We feel this is very Obama/Clinton of us to ask but...
IF you can get behind ONE Radiohead remix out of this whole competition we would HIGHLY suggest you vote to help in the fight fellow Canadian band Circlesquare's remix to the top of things.
