NEW Best Of Output - I Hate... Remixes 12"

Someone sent us a message to let us know about the "I Hate...Remixes" 12" due out this November.

The 12" will be a companion to the “I Hate Music - A Compilation of Output Recordings 1996-2006” from the ill-fated indie label which was first to release bands like Four Tet, Black Strobe, Colder, Circlesquare, The Rapture, & LCD Soundsystem.

One of Output's final releases was the Kreeps' "All I Wanna Do Is Break Some Hearts" which was originally remixed by Mungolian Jet Set, and has now been turned down by Sean P and into more of a fat, percussive, disco-y tune.

Colder's "To The Music" from back in 2005, gets reworked by Optimo who turns it into some very, very late-night type ravey stuff.

Retropost: The Afternoon Delights - General Hospi-Tale (1981)

One-hit wonders the Afternoon Delights released this Blondie-esque rap of all their favorite General Hospital soap opera storylines back in 1981. The single hit #23 on the R&B charts and #33 for 3 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and then the group faded into obscurity.

Portuguese band Loto sent us the heads-up on their new album.

"Beat Riot", which is partially produced by Roger Lyons (Lionrock, New Order, Ladytron, The Bee Gees) and also features Del Marquis of the Scissors Sisters and Peter Hook, co-founder and guitarist of Joy Division & New Order. Its hard to miss the very recognisable guitar sound here.

Second, Cousin Cole is managing to put a really good spin on some not-so-interesting hiphop tunes. Adding his 8-bitty, electro touch to things has been doing seemingly well for the Brooklyn producer.

Video Director Of The Moment: Meet Jaron Albertin

I have been seeing alot of great videos from director Jaron Albertin popping up lately. Whether I'm a fan of the artist or the song at hand or not, I can't help but be drawn in to pay attention to his videos.

Albertin is apparently a Vancouver native who has since relocated out east to Toronto where he has now done videos for bands like Metric/Emily Haines, Cut Copy, Circlesquare, & Dave Gahan.

NEW Black Ghosts - Some Way Through This

The Black Ghosts have in my opinion released a few very nice singles within the past year, some of which have also then been remixed into amazing dance tracks. Everyone will likely be familiar Simon Lord's voice, considering he was the frontman for Simain for a while, and was the voice of Justice VS Simian's indie-dance anthem "We Are Your Friends".

NEW Boys Noize - Oi Oi Oi

Brand new music from Boys Noize, who were just here in town last night playing a show. The new album "Oi,Oi,Oi" is due out later this month, but here are a few of the new tracks to tie you over until then. It draws similarities, and I doubt will ever get away from, being compared to Justice & Daft Punk. "Oh!" definitely sounds of both Daft's "Robot Rock" and Justice's "Genesis", but all good none-the-less.

The Secrets Of Tiesto

So, I'm just not really that into Trance at this moment in time, but our friend had an in at the stadium where Tiesto was playing a few weeks ago, and we decided we would go see what this "spectacular multimedia storm featuring elaborate video projections, dancers, and laser light shows" was all about.

Well, it was kinda lame. There were some basic giant lazers panning the crowd, a few strobes, no dancers, and a huge grainy screen with some fire on it. It was all very "Hackers 1".

Though, I guess when you sell records like Tiesto, and your entire audience is mashed, it doesn't really matter does it --just like he says in the interview above...

Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man

Rad! It's been a while since a comic-film was made with such hugely established stars. The new "Iron Man" film is set to star Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges. The film is directed by Jon Favreau of "Swingers".

They should have cast Blair from "Less Than Zero" as Pepper Potts though...

Midlake- Roscoe (Acoustic Version)

Midlake's sound is usually combined with lo-fi psychedelic electronica, but they strip it all free of that with this beautiful acoustic version of their song "Roscoe".

When listening, it's apparent the band is heavily influenced by bands like Radiohead and Travis. Midlake also appears on the Chemical Brothers' new album, on the track "The Pills Won't Help You Now" which takes them in an even more different direction. If you haven't heard of them, check out their official Myspace, and have a further listen. They have an amazing remix of "Roscoe" floating around out their too by Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve.

Sarah Silverman's MTV VMA Monologue

I'm a huge fan of Sarah Silverman. The way her beautiful Jewish mind works just strikes a such chord with me. About the only thing I liked about the "Aristrocrats" film, was her telling of the joke.

New Duran Duran featuring Justin Timberlake

You have to hand it to Timbaland. As similar as some of his production is, he has worked with more of a variety of artists aswell as different genres of music within the past year, than Hiphop has in a LONG time.

Here is Tim's latest work, producing for Duran Duran with some help from Justin Timberlake. I do however find that the song comes off sounding like it features Duran Duran rather than making Justin secondary. Have a listen:

This kinda is sad to see, if not for the fact that I couldn't even imagine drinking a bunch of daft beer and then performing the following day. The best part is the non-committal, disinterested look Britney has in her eyes.

This is what the Associated Press said about the lackluster mess:

Kicking off the show last night with her new single, "Gimme More," Spears looked bleary and unprepared, much like her recent tabloid exploits on the streets of Los Angeles. She walked through her dance moves with little enthusiasm. She appeared to have forgotten the art of lip-synching. And, perhaps most unforgivable given her once-taut frame, she looked embarrassingly out of shape.

I guess its kind of closure for anyone who thought or believed that whole "comeback" thing was on its way.

Lily had planned on a North American tour in September, but has been forced to cancel due to the cancellation of her American working Visa. She talked about the matter on her official blog by saying:
