Santogold often gets referred to as a sort of an 'indie' M.I.A.
We don't really see the connection besides maybe the album artwork, but whether M.I.A. decides to lay low this year or not though, the new single "L.E.S. Artistes" from Santogold is gonna be a sure-fire hit.
The New Kids On The Block have relaunched their official website, and are planning some major comeback with a tour according to People magazine.
We thinks that shit is gonna be huge. Bigger than Paula's Superbowl performance. Now is the time. Everyone from moms in their 40s, to the American Apparel scenesters are gonna horde to buy a ticket right!?
In honour of this earth-rocking news, we thought we would share a little bit of "Hangin Tough" with everyone. Enjoy. NKOTB - Hangin' Tough (YSI)
**UPDATE**
Danny Wood of NKOTB posted this on his Myspace account, which is funny in itself. "Hello to everyone. Hope all is well and everyone is enjoying the New Year. I wanted to address the rumors of the NKOTB Reunion Tour. There has been no talk of this and you are getting it from source directly. Never say never, and you can't believe everything you read.
On another note my solo record will be released in Australia in March. There are a few new songs on it and I hope you guys will check it out. Thank you so much for your continued support.
Dwood"
A reality show maybe though, we'll wait and see on this one.
**UPDATE #2**
Ooooh, try and be gentle on us Danny, our bodies only hold the capacity for so much hope. Now Danny is saying: "More on NKOTB… Hi to all the New Kids On The Block fans, I wanted to clarify since my first post this morning regarding the NKOTB reunion. I loved being a part of the group, and have always thought "maybe someday we'll get back together" – you just never know when your someday will come. I can guarantee all the fans that if this reunion were to happen, they would hear about it first on www.NKOTB.com."

Goldfrapp is back with their new album Seventh Tree which is scheduled for release on February 28th, and this time they've decided to take a more dreamy and sweet approach to the music, movign away from the basslines and more towards 'pretty'.
Our friends over at Fabric London thought to give us the heads-up on their upcoming party next Saturday the 2nd.
Newly signed Soma Records artist, Let's Go Outside whos new album drops on the 28th will be there live along with a bevvy of others including Andy Weatherall, who we love.

When Paris' Fisher Preyes isn't out playing nasty songs at expensive parties and blogging, they're sending us wonderful remixes they've made for Dragonette.
Check out their their dark electro-grunge rework of "I Get Around".
Next Wednesday, January the 30th we'll be DJing a party in Berlin at K.I.M Bar (Brunnenstraße 10). If you're going to be in the area, come put your shake to good use! Its gonna be mayjah.
Remember Alexyss K. Tylor? The woman who educates people on "Vagina Power" and warns that all men are predators?
If you're not familiar, see the video below and you can check out her Myspace page HERE. We're never quite sure if this mess is for realz, or if she's some crazy art star in the making, but what we do know is that she is talking some real life shit, and we love it.
"Because if we're in a lower level love and if we're hooked on the "Penis Power" and this man won't even buy you some shrimp from Long John Silver's and what...that plate what...$2.99? But he'll give you a mouth full of sperm and a rectum full of sperm."
I know. At any rate, a young producer from Toronto named Northern Younge just sent us his amazing song featuring Alexyss, which highlights some of her finest teachings. Have a listen and get into "Predator Mode".
Its a banger that winds up, and then seemingly takes you on a magic carpet ride to somewhere in Arabia, (wait Jihads are from Arabia, right?!) and then comes right back to business. Quite different and really nice!
Oh man, speaking of festivals here's the official Coachella lineup for 2008. Roger Watersis playing Dark Side Of The Moon, but Bowie is not playing at all as of yet, and I guess My Bloody Valentine and Radiohead aren't really on there yet either. Portisheadis. Hmmm. Erol Alkan's vision for his side-project Beyond The Wizards Sleeve has to be up there as one of the most inspirational acts out there for us right now.
Beyond The Wizards Sleeve samples amazing psychedelic rock from the 60s and 70s and spins it all together with beautiful electronic music. It manages to paint a vivid picture, and takes us back to a time where we've never been.
Have a listen to a recent set they performed from G-MEX Festival last year, and also find their remix of the Chemical Brothers' "Battle Scars" below.

Wow. We never thought that when we started The Beeb Blog back in August, that in only 6 months, we would see over 100,000 hits to the site. That is so awesome for us, and we totally appreciate each and every one of our readers. You guys make it happen! We don't know what "it" is yet, but its happens.
Over the next 6 months, The Beeb Blog is going to continue to grow with you and we have alot planned and lined up, including interviews, contests, videos, and more.
We can't wait to share it with you all, and thanks again for all the amazing support!
The Beeb xxoo
PS. We also want to hear more from you! Hit us up at BeebBlog@Gmail.com! Share your music, parties or whatever with us.
We haven't done a retro repost for a while now, so heres one now, and we're gonna try and bring them back alot more often.
If you're not familiar with Gary Numan's "M.E.", you may be familiar with the sample Basement Jaxx used from the song for their hit "Where's Your Head At".
The song was, and still is pure 80's cosmic-synth geniusness. Enjoy:
Chris Price makes nice pop songs. Since first listen, they've really managed to grow on us.
His new album Post Pop Parade offers a very different "post-pop", electrosynthy, almost tongue-in-cheek apporach to pop music, and the tracks are composed the way we think a really nice pop record should be.
Have a listen to "Charge Me Up" and "Dim The Lights Evangeline", and you can check out more of his stuff HERE. If you like, you can grab the album HERE.
Its the first official remix of Glass Candy's "I Always Say Yes"!
Baron von Luxxury tells us this, in a sense, was his masterpeice after a long 9 months in the making. He collaborated with the members of Glass Candy, and went back and forth, while many trying different things with the song, and has finally finished! Its done!
If you haven't heard of Baron von Luxxury, check out his stuff HERE.
Here's Blohan at one of Jeremy Piven's parties. Yeah, its an old pic, but we find it really captures the essence of the song we're about to share with you all.
This is ESTAW's new remix of Pase Rock's banger about Lindsay's classy lifestyle. We'll give you a nice lyrical excerpt from the song to paint a better picture:
Why you showin' them coochie lips gettin' up out your car? Paparazzi hangin' all around you, bit-- You know you're a superstar
Put your panties on Put your pussy away
We love it, although we're sure she does too, and she requests it when she's out.
Check out ESTAW's remix, along with the original version below:
No, noo --that's not Jocelyn Wildenstein, it's or favorite filthy raptress, Lil' Kim and shes just done the remix for Snoop's massive hit, "Sexual Seduction".
This time around, we found we really got more of the women's perspective from the song so...
In Jacksonrelated news, Janet's one-time mentor and choreographer Paula Abdul is set to perform at this year's Superbowl. So set your Tivo's guys, because thats just too much prescription driven crazy to record on to VHS.
If God truly loves me, he will let this happen. With this writers strike and all, trainwreck performances are really the only things keeping TV alive.
So anyway, put that in your prayers for now, aaand check out Degree's Bmore Nice remix of Paula below, along with "Forever Your Girl" just for good measure.
DFA's The Juan MacLean took to remixing the first track off the album, "Hey You Guys", and turning it into a slower-than-normal, yet chaotically nice dancefloor track.
The single for this release is set to also feature a remix and Instrumental from Ed Banger's newly signed Mickey Moonlight who lends a percussive disco-tinge to his working of the song.
We posted about her track "UNtame" back last March, in which she threatens to fuck your dad! Ha! (How embarrassing for you!)
But Los Angeles-cum-NY's Jane Bang has alot of love. One look at her Myspace page and you'll see that the filthy-mouthed rapstress also projects alot of happiness onto her fans.
With praise for miles, this month Jane releases her next thirst-for-lesbian-blood driven remix from Berlin producer NEAR DARK.
Grab the track below, and check out HERS, and HIS for more details.
I have to say, Missy Elliot is like a sure-fire hit when playing at girlie bars. This woman commands the lesbian dancefloors like voodoo. Ladies love her. So do men. So I guess thats everybody.
I also really miss her TV show Road To Stardom, where she invited contestants onto her tour bus, and then licked lollipops with her backup dancers while firing them. The winner didn't actually end up doing ANYTHING, but thats kind of how we like our TV to be, pointless...
Anyway, here is the new Missy track, so let us know what you think of it:
So as we posted earlier this week, it looks like taxtime for Neverland has come early this year.
Michael Jackson has licensed his Thriller album to be re-issued in its 25th year. Kanye West made a lousy attempt at breathing new life into "Billie Jean", and now everyone's favorite, Fergie Ferg (--you've got to take advantage of those names if they're there, folks) is taking a stab at a song of the album.
Are you guys ready to just "Beat It" with Fergie?
We do however, give Fugalicious some respect for blatantly owning up to pissing herself onstage to Blender magazine recently. That takes balls:
"It's like there's one or two things the public knows about every famous person…with me, everyone knows I wet my pants onstage and had a crystal-meth addiction; that sucks. You have to laugh."
GOLD BRIX who did that "Smell Yo Dick" remix we posted last month, just sent us his latest creation he whipped up for his new years party. Have a listen!

HEY! If you've got something you think we should hear, don't forget to drop us a line @ BeebBlog@Gmail.com, we'd love to hear from you.
You would think that with people like A-Trak, along with every other hiphop giant by his side, Kanye West could come up with a better remix for Michael Jackson than just this. We had high hopes, but the unfortunate truth is that it's pretty mediocre.
What do you think of it? Find the Kanye remix of "Billie Jean 2008" below:
We've been seeing Alan Donohoe pop up alot lately in a bunch of different stuff, so we thought we might share with you some of The Rakes, along with a side song he's done.
Alan says he writes his lyrics down in notes to himself on his mobile phone whenever they pop into his head, which I guess is where songs like "The World Was A Mess, But His Hair Was Perfect" and "When Tom Cruise Cries" have spawned from.
(We can't really get past that last song title, because the visual of Tom Cruise trying to cry convincingly, is a wonderful thing. Like smelling farts.)
At any rate, here is a really lovely polished up, extended version of "The World Was A Mess, But His Hair Was Perfect" which was done for a Dior fashion show a while back, and Groove Armada's cover of Madonna's "Crazy For You" featuring Alan Donohoe. We suspect it will be an even bigger year for The Rakes in 2008. Enjoy!
